here are approximately 95,000 veterans in Franklin County. Some are homeless, many are not. One common fact — many need help in one way or another. The Columbus Veterans Beneficial Board was established to come to their aid.
…The group is dedicated to serving the needs of Veterans. Fundraisers and donations have helped support the Columbus “Stand Down” — an event to provide services to homeless veterans, such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, employment and substance abuse treatment. Other recent activities include the support of other veterans groups including Milvets and contributions to the Chillicothe V. A. hospital.
